LSU and the LSU Agricultural Center have a long tradition in
natural resource education, research and extension, beginning with the first
forestry class in 1911 and continuing to the present School of Renewable
Natural Resources. The importance of this program is based on the $4 billion
annual economic impact to Louisiana from natural resource commodities.
