Responsibilities include directing all operations of the LSU AgCenter Plant Diagnostic Center and provide diagnoses of biotic and abiotic problems of horticultural and agronomic crops submitted by extension personnel and the general public using the most appropriate techniques. Develop and conduct statewide extension educational programs in the areas of plant disease identification and management for all horticultural crops (i.e., ornamentals, turf grasses, vegetables, fruits, nuts, Christmas trees, and forestry). Develop and deliver plant pathology and plant diagnostic sessions for producer educational programs, pesticide certification and re-certification trainings, Master Gardener program, field days and individual farm/home visits to increase the knowledge of stakeholders related to biotic and abiotic plant health problems of specific horticultural commodities. Provide training and support for extension field faculty and county agents in the areas of plant health diagnostics and management.
