(Video, 2:15) The LSU AgCenter’s Department of Plant Pathology and Crop Physiology faculty work to combat diseases and environmental stresses that affect crops and ornamental plants grown in Louisiana.
Departmental scientists identify and attempt to understand diseases to determine the best method for managing them.
Plant pathologists also help provide disease-resistant crop varieties and healthy seed for farmers.
The extension focus is to provide educational outreach to people about plant diseases.
