This provides monthly U.S. prices for selected covered commodities to February 2015 of the 2014/15 marketing year. These prices will be used by USDA to calculate their final estimate of the 2014/15 marketing year average (MYA) price. The 2014/15 MYA price is used in both the PLC and ARC programs to determine the availability of program payments.
This report uses a representative farm approach to detail projected farm program payments under provisions of the 2014 Farm Bill for two representative Louisiana farms: a southwest Louisiana rice/soybean farm and a northeast Louisiana cotton and mixed grain farm.
Cotton base acres are now termed generic base acres and can be attributed to other program crops based on annual planted acreage. This report compares projected ARC-CO and PLC payments for alternative covered commodities planted on generic base acres over the 2014-2018 farm bill period.
