To become a commercial pesticide applicator, you must be at least 18 years of age.
[Description: A Commercial Pesticide Applicator is an individual who is certified (in Louisiana) to apply restricted use pesticide products on a site that is not their own private property. A commercial applicator certification (*) can be used either for hire, or as part of one's employment for a public business or government entity.
If establishing a new business, a business that will apply pesticides as a part of its functioning must employ at least one certified pesticide applicator (certified in the 'site' category where the pesticides are applied) and must also have a business (owner / operator) license. (**)
(*) Note: the other category of certification is that of Private Applicator - who can apply pesticides (not for hire) on their own or leased property, usually in cultivation of a crop or commodity. Certification Exams for becoming a Commercial Pesticide Applicator in Louisiana or Louisiana Tribal Areas
All exams are given by LDAF in Baton Rouge, LA and must be scheduled ahead of time using the application form.
For commercial pesticide applicator certification, you will need to take at least two exams: (1) the General Standards (Core Manual) test and (2) at least one additional subcategory exam. Each subcategory exam cost $50/exam. See the LDAF testing application (for subcategories) below.

Print out the above application form and mail it to LDAF at the address on the form. Remember to send payment, if applicable. After LDAF receives your paperwork, they will contact you to schedule a time and date for testing.
