The commercial applicator’s certification is good for three years from the date of certification or recertification. Prior to your expiration date, you will need to attend an approved scheduled conference to be recertified which again lasts for 3 years from the date of the conference you attended. You are required to be present for the entire meeting to receive credit. At the end of each meeting, you will fill out a form provided to you by the LDAF and return it promptly back to the LDAF representative before leaving the meeting in order to receive credit.
Recertification conferences are posted on the LSU AgCenter website. Go to commercial pesticide applicators then to recertification conferences. There will be a link that will enable you to register online. You may also call the LSU AgCenter Pesticide Safety Education office at 225-578-6998 or 225-578-1321 for more information.
The commercial applicator’s certification is good for three years from the date you were certified or last recertified. Prior to your expiration date, you will need to attend an approved meeting. You are required to be recertified by the date on the back of your card that is next to the list of categories in which you are certified.
Email the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry at pestcert@ldaf.state.la.us to determine if any of the upcoming certification meetings will count towards recertification of your category type. The best way to contact them about these matters is by email: pestcert@ldaf.state.la.us
Each year, your applicator card expires; this is the date on the front of the card. Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry will send out information each year to renew the card. The date on the back of the card indicates when you must recertify by attending an approved one-day class. You must recertify at least every 3 years.
