Undergraduate Majors and Concentrations in the College of Agriculture

1, 2 The undergraduate majors in Animal, Dairy, and Poultry Sciences and Natural Resource Ecology and Management offer a 3 year pre-veterinary medicine concentration. Students spend 3 years taking the pre-requisite courses for the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and apply for admissions during their junior year. If accepted, students may begin Vet School and after the completion of the first year, receive the B.S. degree. Students who are not accepted to the Vet School after three years of undergraduate course work must switch to one of the 4 year concentrations to receive the B.S. degree.

*The Nutrition and Food Sciences degree combines coursework from the School of Nutrition and Food Sciences. Students interested in the Food Science and Technology concentration should contact the Department of Food Science directly for more information. Students interested in any other concentration should contact the School of Nutrition and Food Science.
