Agriculture Residential College

The Agriculture Residential College (ARC), located in the recently renovated Blake Hall, is a living-learning community for first-year students of all majors in the College of Agriculture. ARC allows students to live and take classes with the same group of peers, thus creating a smaller network within the larger LSU campus. ARC will offer opportunities to travel and host several special interest lectures that focus on the diverse needs of today’s ever changing world.

Frequently asked questions:

Q:Can my friend, who will not be in the College of Agriculture, be my roommate?

A:Only if space permits will non-Ag roomates be allowed.

Q:Is Blake Hall co-ed?

A:It is co-ed by floor. Typically there is one floor of males and three floors of females. Females cannot gain access to the male floors and vice versa.

Q:What is the floor plan?

A:Rooms are 12'6" x 16". Each room has two moveable/loftable twin XL beds, two desks, two chest of drawers, two wardrobes, and a vanity sink with an underneath storage cabinet. Bathrooms are in the hallways. Each room has its own thermostat.

Q:Will I be taking all of my classes in the hall?

A:No. The classroom in the hall holds approximately 20, so students typically take one class each semester in the on-site classroom. For larger classes, spaces are reserved to ensure that students living in the ARC get a spot in the course.
