The number of broilers is estimated using an average weight of 4.4 pounds per bird. The amount of litter is calculated based on 0.52 pounds of litter per ton of meat production. Values in this table are generated based on information obtained from the LSU AgCenter Ag Summary for 2008 and Louisiana crop enterprise budget for 2009. Broiler farm numbers in Webster and Winn parishes are not disclosed.
