Weed Tenacity

James L. Griffin, an LSU AgCenter weed scientist, discovered this golf ball in a sugarcane field in Youngsville, La., where he was conducting an experiment. As he was removing crop residue, he noticed that a weed, which is named Poa annua, is actually growing out of the golf ball.
