A reliable, long-lived perennial for great summer and fall flowers, porterweed also serves as a nectar plant for pollinators.

Long spike-like flower stems cover the tops of 3-to-5-foot-tall plants. Foliage is rich green and glossy.

For the most part, plants prefer a full sun to a lightly shaded planting location.

Drought tolerance and low fertility requirements make porterweed a perfect low-maintenance perennial in the flower garden.

You will find porterweed flowers in shades of blue (indigo), lavender, coral, red, purple and salmony-pink. It’s great for butterflies, great for bees, great for blooms and easy to care for.
