Ag Adventures, an educational experience in agriculture for third- through fifth-graders, will be held Feb. 23-24 at the Northeast District Livestock Show Barn and Civic Center in Delhi.

Students will spend about 1 1/2 hours learning about agricultural products in northeast Louisiana from LSU AgCenter agents at interactive exhibits.

The event will showcase four areas – corn, horticulture, livestock and horses.

The goal of the event is to increase awareness of the nutritional and economic importance of Louisiana’s agricultural products, said Keith Collins, LSU AgCenter agent in Richland Parish.

This is the fourth time the event will be held, and more than 1,100 students participated last year, Collins said.

Students, teachers and parent volunteers from schools in East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll parishes are expected to participate.

Schools are given a choice of attending Ag Adventures or Ag Alley at Ag Expo in West Monroe.

More information is available from the LSU AgCenter office in Richland Parish at 318-728-3216.
