Second day results of 4-H and FFA State Horse Show released

Results from the second day of competition (July 9) at the 39th annual Louisiana 4-H and FFA State Horse Show have been released.

Coordinated by the LSU AgCenter, the event is at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe. Following are the names of winners and their parishes.

Results for pole bending, 13 and under: first, Kelsey Chesson, Calcasieu Parish; second, Ashlee Willson, Concordia Parish; third, Sidney Sehon, Ascension Parish; fourth, Jordan Hudspeth, LaSalle Parish; fifth, Abigail Powers, Calcasieu Parish.

Pole bending, 14 and over: first, Shelby Miller, St. Helena Parish; second, Sarah Fontenot, Evangeline Parish; third, Dustin Angelle, St. Martin Parish; fourth, Jessica Casanova, Tangipahoa Parish; fifth, Jessie Loyd, West Feliciana Parish.

Barrel racing, 13 and under: first, Dani Anderson, West Carroll Parish; second, Sidney Sehon, Ascension Parish; third, Lacy Dunn, Rapides Parish; fourth, Abigail Powers, Calcasieu Parish; fifth, Ryland Frey, Point Coupee Parish.

Barrel racing, 14 and over: first, Kaitlen Emfinger, Tensas Parish; second, Tanya Griffith, Bienville Parish; third, Lacey Guilbeau, Lafayette Parish; fourth, Codie Robertson, Tangipahoa Parish; fifth, Chelsey Campbell, Franklin Parish.

An awards banquet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on July 10.

This is the first time donations have been obtained to provide savings bonds for all-around winners and classes.

Corporate sponsor is the Monroe-West Monroe Convention and Visitors Bureau. Gold sponsors are the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders and Louisiana Equine Council. Silver sponsors are Robicheaux Ranch Inc., Southland Fire and Safety Equipment, Lamar Bridges Quarter Horses, Somers Equestrian Center and Kleinpeter and Cramer Equine Veterinary Services.
