LSU AgCenter professor picked for Fulbright project in South Africa

Kenneth McMillin, professor in the LSU AgCenter’s School of Animal Sciences, has been selected for a Fulbright Senior Specialist project in South Africa at the University of Stellenbosch for five weeks in July and August. McMillin will give food sanitation and hygiene workshops to retail food operations (restaurants and retail stores) and to meat and poultry processors and conduct modified atmosphere packaging seminars for industry and university personnel. McMillin is one of more than 400 U.S. faculty and professionals traveling abroad in 2008 through the Fulbright Senior Specialists Program. The Fulbright Senior Specialists Program, created in 2000 to complement the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, provides short-term academic opportunities (two to six weeks) to prominent U.S. faculty and professionals to support curricular and faculty development and institutional planning at post secondary, academic institutions around the world.
