CROWLEY – The LSU AgCenter’s Rice Research Station will hold its annual Rice Field Day on July 1.
Events will include tours of fields where research is being conducted starting at 7:30 a.m., a poster display and an "Ask the Plant Doctor" session from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and a variety of speakers beginning at 10:45 a.m. Those sessions will be followed by lunch.
The field tours will have presentations on the latest research in such areas rice variety development, soybean production, rice diseases, rice insects and rice management and weed control.
The speakers program will include a report on the activities of the Louisiana Rice Research Board, which funds some of the research at the station, as well as presentations on current and emerging issues in the industry and the outlook for the rice market.
The field day is open to all rice producers and those interested in learning more about the research and extension programs conducted by the LSU AgCenter at the Rice Research Station.

The Rice Research Station is 1 mile east of Crowley off U.S. 90 on Caffey Road, just north of Interstate 10.
