I'm in Fort Myers, Florida, and the city is loaded with these trees with beautiful bright yellow blooms. Can you tell me what they are and if they would grow in Baton Rouge? The flower resembles an azalea bloom.

This is the golden trumpet tree or golden tabebuia, Tabebuia chrysantha. There are a few successfully growing in New Orleans, where the climate is milder. But this tropical tree is subject to cold injury or death during severe freezes in the low 20s or below. I think they would not be cold hardy enough to reliably plant in Baton Rouge unless you are willing to accept the issues it may have with cold.
