Dear Mr. Gill,

I have recently found black spots on the leaves and new blooms of my Vitex tree. Please help. I have also taken your advice on the mums and have new buds forming. Thanks.

No need to be overly concerned. It is late in the season and fall is just around the corner. Vitex trees are deciduous and they will be dropping their leaves in the not too distant future. Leaf spots in late summer are not a concern and will not significantly hurt the tree. No need to take any action beyond raking up and disposing of the infected leaves as they fall.
