Can you tell me why I have a few tomatoes that look like this? I have picked many tomatoes and only a couple look like this.

The splitting of the skin of a tomato happens when the developing fruit swells faster than the skin can accommodate. This causes splits in the skin of the fruit. You may still eat these tomatoes. This is generally weather related and can vary tremendously from cultivar to cultivar.
