Spectrum Brands has licensed a pop-up termite indicator technology designed by Gregg Henderson and Jay Paxton of the LSU AgCenter Department of Entomology
. The pop-up indicator signals the presence of termites with a spring-loaded flag when a portion of the compressed cardboard stick in its center is consumed. This makes it easier to visually track the presence of termites before they become a problem. Spectrum Brands has several divisions specializing in different areas, but its United Industries division focuses solely on pest control. The indicator is sold commercially as Spectracide Terminate® Termite Detection & Killing Stakes and is available at major retailers and for online purchase.
