The mission of the Office of Intellectual Property is to support the LSU AgCenter’s mission and facilitate the commercialization and economic development of AgCenter research through evaluation, protection, and licensing of its intellectual property for the benefit of the people of Louisiana.

LSU AgCenter Office of Intellectual Property connects research with industry partners, driving innovation and improving lives. We find compatible companies or individuals to bring innovations to the marketplace, creating lasting impact. We use various agreement types to move innovations forward and protect intellectual property for commercial success.
We support the commercialization process, protect intellectual property (IP), license products, and bring them to market. Our team works with law firms to protect LSU AgCenter IP. We navigate patenting, trademark, and copyright processes to safeguard innovations. We evaluate IP and aim for success with companies, entrepreneurs, and startups.
