The LSU AgCenter and Mendel University held a joint food symposium focused on the regional food supply during COVID-19 on March 15-19, 2021. Students, teachers and researchers interested in food science, nutrition, food technology, super foods and micronutrients, food microbiology, food safety, food systems, food waste, food entrepreneurship, economics and regional development were encouraged to participate.

The LSU AgCenter Food Incubator has served as a launching point for 40 companies producing products such as candy, sauces and baked goods. They have more than 70 products in production. The strength of the incubator is its vast array of equipment allowing its users to produce their products on a large scale.
