Members of the LSU Chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta attended the 2014 Wheat and Oat Field Day at the Macon Ridge Research Station in Winnsboro. The field day consisted of indoor presentations on wheat water logging tolerance and molecular studies the LSU AgCenter's Wheat Breeding Program. An update on the 2014 crop also was given. Topics covered during the field tour included: fusarium head scab genotype screening; wheat breeding, Sungrains and seed increases; fungicide trials and disease control/update; wheat variety trials; and Hessian fly and aphid control.
