Members of the LSU Chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta toured the Sanderson Farms poultry production operation in McComb, Miss., on Feb. 7, 2014. Members toured the meat processing plant and the feed mill. This tour was designed to give participants a better understanding of the importance of agriculture in our economy. According to the Louisiana Agriculture Summary, published by the LSU AgCenter, the total value (gross farm and value added) of poultry production in Louisiana was $1.9 billion in 2012.
