2012 State Science and Engineering Fair Senior Division Gamma Sigma Delta Award Winners

Rithika Thirumal from O. Comeaux High School (Lafayette Parish) won Gamma Sigma Delta's First Place Award in the Senior Division for her presentation titled, "Increase Yield of Alternative Fuel from Sorghum, Sugarcane and Abundant Non-Consumable Sustainable Second Generation Plants."

Cole Bergeron from Terrebonne High School in Terrebonne Parish won Gamma Sigma Delta's Third Place Award in the Senior Divison for his presentation titled, "Cajun Cane Logs."

Grace Ragland (left) and Anna Claire Maxwell of St. Joseph's Academy (East Baton Rouge Parish) won Gamma Sigma Delta's Second Place Award in the Senior Divison for their presentation titled, "The Acclimation of Spartina alterniflora to Various Saline Concentrations."

BATON ROUGE – LSU hosted the 2012 Region VII Science and Engineering Fair March 26-27 in the LSU Student Union’s Royal Cotillion Ballroom. The fair consisted of regional winners from across the state. Students presented their projects to judges. Top winners will represent Louisiana in the International Science & Engineering Fair to be held in Pittsburgh, Penn., in May. Gamma Sigma Delta presented First, Second and Third Place awards for projects relating to agriculture. Gamma Sigma Delta award winners in the Senior Division are:
