(05/27/26) HAMMOND, La. — The LSU AgCenter Hammond Research Station will hold its annual landscape horticulture field day June 18 — about one month earlier than the event has traditionally taken place.
Gates will open at 7:30 a.m. for registration, coffee and refreshments. The field day program will begin at 8:15 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m. with a break for a provided lunch.
The day’s itinerary includes the following:
— Welcome remarks from AgCenter and Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry officials.
— Outdoor presentations on landscape, nursery, turf and edible and specialty crop research.
— A tour of the station’s extensive trial gardens, where new plant introductions are evaluated.
— Industry updates and a panel discussion hosted by the Louisiana Nursery and Landscape Association.
The station, located at 21549 Old Covington Highway, is about 6 miles east of Hammond.
