(05/22/26) BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners will be presenting Native Plants and Garden Insects, Diseases and Pests at the Fairwood Branch Library, 12910 Old Hammond Highway, on Thursday, June 25.
Master Gardener Gaynelle Wolff will introduce you to the many native plants that thrive in our hot, humid climate. Everyone today is interested in improving the environment and ecologists know that using native plants not only makes gardening easier, but it also is beneficial for all the wildlife that live in and around our yards. Find out which native plants you may want to include in your landscape this year.
The second portion of the program, Garden Insects, Diseases and Pests, will be presented by Master Gardener Floyd Sones. There are many things trying to take over your garden. Some of these have a very destructive impact on our native plants and even more so on the ones that are not native. Sones will identify many for you and tell you how to prevent or manage them.
The program begins at 5:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
