Director's Message

This year, the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service (LCES) advanced several key initiatives aligned with the LSU AgCenter’s strategic plan, Louisiana Solutions: Global Impact. To reinforce our mission and complement the strategic plan, we adopted the Listen, Care, Educate and Serve framework as a defining message for Extension. Updated materials now reflect this identity, and new video content is in production to integrate both the strategic plan and the LCES message. We developed a series of outward‑facing economic fact sheets designed to strengthen legislative engagement and public understanding of Extension’s statewide economic contributions. The first annual LCES Skeet Shoot fundraiser launched successfully, creating strong visibility and stakeholder engagement. We are looking forward to enhanced participation in 2026.

The third annual LCES internship program application launched in December 2025, with a goal of placing 20 interns across the state during the summer of 2026, strengthening our workforce pipeline and expanding our capacity to serve Louisiana communities. Each year, our impact grows. In 2025, our extension personnel reached more than 1.4 million people through in‑person programming, helping individuals, families and communities thrive. Our people are creating meaningful changes every day — showing up, serving locally and making a difference where it matters most — with you!
