Mobile Equipment Operator 1 - Heavy

• Location: Sugar Research Station, St. Gabriel, LA
• Job Details: Maintain drainage systems – clean and dig ditches, replace culverts as needed using small to medium sized excavators, small bulldozer, and v-ditch plow (10%); operate tractor-mounted precision laser land leveling equipment and other dirt-moving equipment, including land plane (10%); maintains road and sugarcane loading sites – apply limestone, dirt, etc. as needed. Use road grader as necessary (10%); operate tractors 117-225 hp with various field implements for routine farming operations, mechanical planters, and high-dump, 8-10 ton sugarcane wagons during harvest (50%); operate mechanical sugarcane harvester (10%); and perform routine maintenance on all equipment as needed.
