(03/20/26) BATON ROUGE, La. — Have you ever taken a clipping of a plant and tried to make it grow? Would you like to be able to do that on a regular basis?
East Baton Rouge Master Gardener Cheri Fasy is an expert on doing just that and would love to help you learn how.
On Thursday, April 23, she and several other Master Gardeners will present information on plant propagation at the Carver Branch Library, 720 Terrace St.
Fasy is a graduate of the 2020 class of Master Gardeners and works full-time as a graphic designer. In her spare time, she is propagating plants, buying plants, repotting plants, researching plants, talking to plants and singing to plants.
Several Master Gardeners will assist Fasy by demonstrating how to take a stem or leaf and get it to grow into a whole plant.
They also will explain how to separate bunches that grow together and make lots of new plants as well as how to make a branch that is still attached to a tree or bush grow roots and eventually become a new plant.
Propagation is fun and very rewarding. Lots of the newly propagated plants will be available as door prizes.
The program will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
