EBR Master Gardeners to host interactive Children’s Garden Party for families

(03/13/26) BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners Association invites the public to celebrate Louisiana’s vital pollinators at the Children's Garden Party on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Children's Garden within the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden.

This free, educational event aims to connect children with the natural world through engaging, hands-on activities. Highlights of the morning include:

  • Live beehive demonstration: A safe, up-close look at pollinators in action
  • Garden scavenger hunt: An interactive way for children to discover the diverse plant life at Burden
  • Take-home nature crafts: Opportunities for kids to make seedballs and participate in seed planting
  • Active play: Timed races, temporary tattoos and more

Registration is free but required. Families are encouraged to register early at bit.ly/AprilGardenParty.

The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden, located in the heart of Baton Rouge, is a 440-acre facility dedicated to horticulture, environmental education and community outreach.
