Apply today for 2026 Cooperative Extension Internship

(01/08/26) BATON ROUGE, La. — The LSU AgCenter Cooperative Extension Service is now accepting applications for its 2026 Extension Internship program.

College students who are rising juniors, seniors or grad students will spend their summer learning how to plan and conduct extension programs by working alongside educators at a parish extension office.

Students enrolled in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, Extension Education or a related field are encouraged to apply.

  • Prospective interns must submit an application and will go through an interview process.
  • There are 20 positions available throughout the state.
  • Interns earn $15 per hour for eight to 10 weeks, not to exceed 400 hours.
  • Interns will complete a project, report and video highlighting their experience.
  • Interns may work with their adviser for college credit for the internship.
