(10/06/25) BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners are offering two programs to help you enjoy your gardens this autumn: “Stop the Weeds” and “Fruit Trees.” They will be held at the Main Library at 7711 Goodwood Blvd. on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Master Gardener Carol Paine is a retired science and home economics teacher who loves sharing information with the public. She will divulge the many ways to make weeds less of a problem in gardens. Paine will discuss various chemicals that can be used and how to choose the safest course of action.
Fall is the time to plant fruit trees. In Baton Rouge we are fortunate to be able to produce many types of fruits that provide nutrition and gardening enjoyment. Advanced Master Gardener Leo Broders will give great advice on which trees to choose, where to plant them and how to care for them.
The programs will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. They are free and open to the public.
