Cooking 101

The St. John Parish 4-H Program and the St. John Parish Library are partnering to offer a FREE Cooking 101 class for youth ages 9-12. This 4-week hands-on cooking series introduces tweens to essential kitchen skills in a fun and engaging environment. Each session builds on the last, covering food safety, basic food preparation, nutrition, and recipe literacy. Youth will prepare simple, age-appropriate recipes while learning to work safely and confidently in the kitchen.

Topics to include:

  • Kitchen Confidence and Food Safety
  • Cooking with Heat
  • Nutrition & Balanced Meals
  • Jr. Chef Challenge

Session Dates:

  • September 9
  • September 16
  • September 23
  • September 30

All sessions are from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Leroy D. Williams Memorial Library Teaching Kitchen (located inside the 1885 house), 1482 HWY 44, Reserve, LA. Space is limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration is required.
