(07/03/25) HAMMOND, La. — The LSU AgCenter Hammond Research Station will host its annual horticulture field day July 18.
Visitors will hear from experts about their research endeavors and have the chance to see an array of plants during a tour of the station’s sprawling trial gardens.
Registration for the event will start at 7:30 a.m. At 8:15 a.m., leaders of the AgCenter and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry will offer updates on their organizations and industry issues.
A research tour will kick off at 9 a.m. The agenda includes the following topics:
— Rain garden, nursery, greenhouse and landscape research.
— Turf varieties.
— Pond management.
— Tea harvest research.
— Artificial intelligence and robotics in nurseries.
— Louisiana Climate and Digital Agriculture Network.
— Plant diagnostics.
— Rural Energy for America Program.
At 10:45 a.m., station staff will guide attendees through the Sun Garden, where hundreds of plants are subjected to rigorous evaluations.
Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. An industry update and panel discussion will follow until 2:15 p.m.
