(06/13/25) BATON ROUGE, La. — East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners will present Hydroponics and Houseplants at the Fairwood Branch Library, 12910 Old Hammond Highway, on Thursday, June 26.
Hydroponics is the process of growing plants without soil. Master Gardener Kathy Conerly has taught agricultural science for 30 years and had this process set up in her classroom. The idea of growing crops in this unique way has become very popular, because it can all be done indoors with proper lighting, and you can control the environment.
Master Gardener Kelly Hebert got into gardening when one houseplant quickly turned into a hundred. She became a Master Gardener in 2021 and will be sharing her tips on houseplant care along with details on some personal favorites and some of the hardiest houseplants you can own. If you love houseplants, but have trouble keeping them alive, you will want to join Hebert for her presentation.
The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
