(03/07/25) BATON ROUGE, La. — Spring is here, and now is the time to get out in the garden and get it blooming. The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners Association wants to help you do just that. On Thursday, March 27, Master Gardeners will present two programs at the Bluebonnet Library at 6:30 p.m.
What are Louisiana Super Plants? The LSU AgCenter works all year testing plants that will not only survive but thrive in our state. Each year, the AgCenter offers new selections for spring and fall. The program began in 2009, and plants are tested for two years before they are deemed worthy of being called Super Plants. Master Gardener Debi O’Neil will present the newest additions as well as go over many of the favorites from past years.
Do some of those shrubs need trimming? Advanced Master Gardener Leo Broders will teach which to prune now and which to wait until a later date. He will also show how to make the cuts, where to cut and which tools are best to use.
As always, the presentations are free and open to the public.
