The following varieties of virus-tested foundation sweet potato seed will be available from the Sweet Potato Research Station in Chase, Louisiana for the 2025 planting season: Beauregard B-63, Beauregard B-14, Orleans, Bayou Belle, Avoyelles, Evangeline, Murasaki, and Sakura. All varieties are available in 20-pound boxes for $16 per box. A 40-pound box of the Beauregard variety is $25, and 40-pound boxes of all other varieties are $30.

We will also be taking orders in our office beginning Monday, January 6. The deadline to order through the AgCenter office in Columbia is Thursday, January 30. Checks or money orders made payable to the Sweet Potato Research Station will be accepted as payment. To order potatoes, come by the Caldwell Parish LSU AgCenter office located at 106 Jackson Street in Columbia from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
