(12/09/24) ALEXANDRIA, La. — Experts will offer their insights into what 2025 could hold for agricultural producers at an upcoming LSU AgCenter event.
The second annual Louisiana Agricultural Outlook Forum will be held Jan. 14 at the State Evacuation Shelter near the LSU Alexandria campus. The shelter’s address is 8125 U.S. Highway 71 South.
“The forum will provide both a comprehensive outlook on the agricultural economic environment for 2025 and critical farm and risk management information for 2025,” said AgCenter economist Michael Deliberto. “The event will serve as a continuation of our successful inaugural event last year, which brought over 150 individuals together from Louisiana’s farm and agricultural lending sectors.”
AgCenter economists will give updates on the corn, soybean, cotton, sugar, cattle and timber markets.
Tom Sell, of Combest, Sell and Associates, will speak about the status of the farm bill and disaster assistance packages in the new Congress. Nate Kauffman, of the Kansas City Federal Reserve, will discuss the agricultural lending climate for the 2025 crop year.
The forum will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Those planning to attend are asked to preregister by visiting https://forms.office.com/r/LGYENL1aZU. Onsite registration also will be available.
