(11/26/24) BATON ROUGE, La. — The LSU AgCenter is accepting applications for the Charles and Rose Broussard Internship, a program that gives high school and college students the opportunity to gain hands-on agricultural research experience.
The internship program is named for Charles Broussard, a ninth-generation Vermilion Parish farmer and rancher, and his wife, Rose. The couple worked tirelessly to improve agriculture and promote conservation. Their children established the internship in 2020 through an endowment.
One student is selected each year to complete a paid internship at one of three AgCenter research stations: the H. Rouse Caffey Rice Research Station near Crowley, the Iberia Research Station near Jeanerette or the Dean Lee Research and Extension Center near Alexandria. Internships are typically done in the summer, but alternate arrangements can be made.
Part- and full-time students at high schools and universities may apply. Those from Vermilion Parish will be given preference.
Interested students must send in an application and resume by Feb. 21, 2025. The application form and additional information can be found online at https://tinyurl.com/2wvjdy8c.
