EBR Master Gardeners present propagation on Sept. 5 at the Main Library

(08/23/24) BATON ROUGE, La. — If you have questions about backyard greenhouses or want to plant a fall vegetable garden but aren’t sure what or how to plant it, the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners are ready to provide answers at its Library Series on Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Main Library on 7711 Goodwood Blvd.

Greenhouses are a favorite topic for Master Gardener DG Ewing. He will explain the different types of greenhouses, how they function, where they should be placed, how to put them together and any other questions you may have.

The second presenter, Master Gardener David Breaux has grown vegetables in his backyard for many years and currently helps with the kitchen garden at the Burden Rural Life Museum. As he will tell you, there is nothing like being able to pick vegetables from your own backyard. They taste better and you know what pesticides or fertilizers have been used on them. Vegetables can be grown in our area throughout the year, and the extras are great for sharing with neighbors and friends. Breaux will help you decide what you should plant this fall, and how to have a successful garden.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.
