Student Chosen to Lead Student Dairy Association
College of Agriculture student Regan Jackson was elected president of the American Dairy Science Association Undergraduate Student Division for 2024-25.
Jackson was previously president of the LSU Dairy Science Club. Cathy Williams, adviser for the LSU Dairy Science Club, said the ADSA Undergraduate Student Division offered several professional opportunities through national conventions. LSU Launches Graduate Certificate to Strengthen Food Supply Chains
LSU has unveiled a new online graduate certificate in agribusiness designed to strengthen the resilience and efficiency of the national food supply chain.
This certification, spearheaded by LSU College of Agriculture and the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business, aims to equip professionals with advanced skills critical for navigating challenges within the food industry.
The graduate certificate in agribusiness program was developed by industry professionals who have a deep understanding of the challenges facing the agribusiness industry today. The program will integrate rigorous coursework from both colleges’ faculty, leveraging cutting-edge research and practical insights to prepare graduates for leadership roles in agricultural management, supply chain logistics and food system resilience.
The comprehensive curriculum concentrates on the competencies essential for success in food processing and supply chain management and blends the worlds of business and food sciences, offering a unique and valuable skill set.

College of Agriculture Awards 272 Degrees in Spring Graduation
The LSU College of Agriculture awarded 272 degrees during the spring commencement ceremony on May 17. Among the graduates were 246 recipients of bachelor's degrees, 19 recipients of master's degrees and seven recipients of doctorates.
The spring class of 2024 is composed of students from 38 Louisiana parishes, 18 states and 11 countries.
The University Medal is awarded to students graduating with the highest grade point average. Three undergraduates within the College of Agriculture received the University Medal: Marie-Pascale Delahoussaye, a natural resource ecology and management major from New Orleans; Sophie Stine, an animal sciences major from Lake Charles; and Emma Vines, an agricultural and extension education major from Winnfield. ■ Annabelle Lang
