4-H Poster Contest

Kick off the 2024-2025 4-H Year by participating in the 4-H Poster Contest. There are two types of poster contests that 4-H’ers can participate in: 1) Regular Poster Contest or 2) Digital Marketing Poster Contest.

All posters are due by Friday, October 4, 2024

Digital posters are to be submitted online using the button below, and all regular posters are due to your child's 4-H Club Leader or submitted to the 4-H Office.

Digital Poster Submission

Rules for Both Contests

  1. Your poster must promote 4-H and include the 4-H emblem. When using the 4-H emblem on a poster, follow the criteria specified by the national guidelines.
    1. Do not place text or other images over or on top of the 4-H emblem.
    1. No photo, drawing, symbol, word, or other figure or object may be placed on or obscure the 4-H emblem.
    1. The official colors should not be altered.
    1. The clover stem should turn to the right only.
    1. The clover should not be slanted.

  2. 4-H’er Name, grade, and school/4-H Club name should be placed on the back of the poster for regular posters. Those who submit a digital poster will complete the required form that includes that information
  3. The design must be original.
  4. Well-known cartoon figures, such as Marvel superheroes, Disney characters, and Lego characters, cannot be used because they are copyrighted.
  5. The same scorecard will be used for both the Digital and Regular Poster Contest.
  6. There will be four divisions:
    1. Division 1: 9th – 12th grade
    1. Division 2: 7th – 8th grade
    1. Division 3: 4th – 6th grade
    1. Division 4: Digital (all grades)
  7. Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for each division
  8. A 4-H member may submit one entry to the Digital and one entry to the Regular Poster Contest.

Rules for Digital Poster

  1. Must be submitted in PDF or PNG format.
  2. Entries should be clear (not blurry, grainy, or pixelated).
    1. (In most cases, 640 x 480 pixels should provide a clear image.)
    1. Tip: If using a computer program such as Microsoft Publisher, when you save your image as a PNG in the dialogue box, there is a “resolution” box, and you can change it from “standard printing” to “high quality or commercial.”
  3. Examples of programs that could be used for designing your digital poster include, but are not limited to:
    1. Microsoft PowerPoint
    1. Microsoft Publisher
    1. Adobe Illustrator
    1. Adobe InDesign
    1. Canva
  4. Digital posters should be in the landscape (or horizontal) format.
  5. Digital posters are not photographs of regular posters but rather computer graphics/designs created on the computer.

Rules for Regular Poster

  1. Poster must be horizontal and measure 14 x22 inches
