Madlyn's commitment to 4-H spans decades, marked by leadership and unwavering dedication to youth development. Since 1991, she has served in various roles in Vermilion Parish, including club leader, advisory committee member, and foundation committee member. Beyond these roles, Madlyn has organized sewing camps, chaperoned trips, and conducted cooking workshops. Recognition for Madlyn's contributions includes pins for 1 to 20 years of service, Outstanding Parish Club, and Volunteer Service awards. She has also been featured in social media spotlights during National 4-H Week. Madlyn's influence extends beyond 4-H into community and church activities, from coaching soccer to teaching catechism. Notably, her impact on the sewing project has led to increased participation and engagement among youth through initiatives like sewing camps and clubs. Her legacy embodies selflessness, dedication, and transformative leadership, leaving a lasting impression on Vermilion Parish 4-H and inspiring generations of youth to excel. Madlyn’s impact on the parish 4-H program is widespread & impressive. Her efforts cross many project areas, but most notable is her work with the sewing project, conducting a 5-day sewing camp in the summer, hosting an annual clothing contest and an ever-growing sewing exhibit at achievement day.
