Trent Guidry

Trent Guidry.Trent Guidry's journey with 4-H began in Cameron Parish, where he immersed himself in the program, excelling in sheep production and earning accolades like the State FFA Governor's Award. After graduating from McNeese State University, he joined the Calcasieu Parish 4-H Extension team, eventually earning a master's degree while continuing to enrich the lives of youth through his leadership. He worked to capture youth interest focusing on projects relevant to the local area and coordinating with regional support from STEM club focusing on weather and tracking hurricane impacts on the coastal area to implementing parish exchange trips with 4-Hers in Pennsylvania, Michigan and California. Trent's impact extended far beyond the parish, organizing key events like the Calcasieu Parish Jr. Livestock Show and Sale and the Southwest District Livestock Show. His sudden passing in 2011 left a void in the LSU AgCenter community, but his legacy lives on through scholarships and awards established in his honor. Trent's dedication to youth development and agricultural education remains an inspiration, touching the lives of countless 4-H members and leaving an enduring imprint on Louisiana's 4-H community.
