Joint Advisory Leadership Council Meeting
March 12, 2024- 4:00pm
The West Feliciana Advisory Leadership Council & Joint Advisory Leadership Council Meeting was held in the West Feliciana LSU AgCenter Office. Layne Langley, Parish Chair began the meeting. She welcomed the stakeholders and thanked them for attending. Mrs. Langley provided the group with the LSU AgCenter Mission. LSU AgCenter staff introduced themselves and offered a brief overview of their programming areas. Katlin Lucas Gordon spoke about the 4-H Youth Development Program. Jessie Hoover shared information on her horticulture programming efforts. Dr. Donna Gentry spoke about her livestock and pasture programming and Mrs. Langley provided the stakeholders with information about her nutrition and community health (NCH) programs. She explained the purpose of the Advisory Leadership Council and Joint Advisory Leadership Council.
The 4-H, ANR, and NCH Agents conducted their program area ALC Meetings with their stakeholders to identify program area issues/needs.
The issues identified by program area are as follows:

A representative from each group shared their top five or six issues with the entire group of stakeholders. After hearing from the three program area representatives, all stakeholders voted to prioritize the issues. The staff decided to combine “Branding farmers markets with Enhancing farmers markets” and” Teaching young people the value of cooking with Use of kitchen equipment”.
The Top 3 issues identified by the Joint ALC for West Feliciana in order from most to least important are:
1. Branding and enhancing the farmers markets
2. Teaching young people the value of cooking and use of kitchen equipment
3. 4-H getting into the schools
Mrs. Langley assured the stakeholders that each agent would be addressing their top five/six program area issues/needs and that the entire staff would work on the top three issues collectively.
