Camellia show, sale set for Feb. 17-18

(01/23/24) BATON ROUGE, La. — The Baton Rouge Camellia Society will feature more than 100 camellia selections at its show and sale on Feb. 17-18 at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden.

The Saturday event is from 1 to 5 p.m., and on Sunday the hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitors will be able to shop from over 100 camellia selections for their garden or look through the exhibit of award-winning camellias grown by the Baton Rouge Camellia Society and fellow gardeners. Many have been meticulously propagated from the expansive camellia collections at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden.

The show will take place at the LSU Rural Life Museum at Burden, and plants will be sold at the Ornamental and Turf Research Facility at the Botanic Gardens on the north side of Interstate 10, or through the tunnel on the property. Signage will guide guests to both the show and sale areas.

There is no admission to the show and sale, and the public is invited.

The Camellia Society will be on hand to offer planting and management advice.

The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden is located at 4560 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge.
