Homesteader’s Conference to be held Oct. 7

(10/03/23) BOSSIER CITY, La. — The LSU AgCenter Red River Research Station will be the site for the 2023 Homesteader’s Conference, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, starting at 8 a.m. Admission is free.

The research station is located at 262 Research Station Drive in Bossier City.

The event will provide homeowners with information regarding backyard and small-acreage food production techniques and food preservation methods.

Topics to be covered include poultry and egg production; raising rabbits and meat and milk goats; food preservation; and meat processing.

AgCenter horticulturists will share information about vegetable gardening and fruit tree options that do well in northwestern Louisiana.

Food vendors will be present.
