Sugarcane industry facing 'unprecedented' times amid record heat and drought

(Video 08/25/23) The hot, dry weather in Louisiana is taking a toll on the state’s sugarcane crop. Planting has been delayed, mills have pushed back the beginning of their grinding season and some fields may be designated as failed acreage. LSU AgCenter reporter Craig Gautreaux has the story from southwest Louisiana.
