(03/23/23) ST. JOSEPH, La. — The LSU AgCenter will host a field day featuring the latest research on soil health and water quality best management practices March 30.
Registration for the event will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the program will start at 9 a.m. at the Northeast Research Station, located at 4589 Highway 605 in St. Joseph.
Field tour topics will include:
— Greenseeker sensor for nitrogen application.
— Nutrient-rich strips.
— Water quality monitoring.
— Cover crop planting methods.
— Cover crop selection and termination.
— Carbon credits and Waters of the U.S.
— Water infiltration demonstration, soil aggregation and rainfall simulation.
There will also be an inside program with information on 2023 crop progression, updates on work being funded by the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation and a featured guest speaker.
