CONTEST RULES:

  1. All exhibits entered are at the risk of the exhibitor. Neither the St. John the Baptist 4-H Office nor its representatives are responsible for any loss or damage to any exhibit. The management of St. John 4-H will exercise proper care to protect the exhibits.
  2. A 4-H member may enter only ONE (1) article.
  3. 4-H members are encouraged to date their projects when it is made
  4. All visual arts exhibits are evaluated using a visual arts rubric that considers the correct use of design elements, craftsmanship, and creativity.
  5. Articles must be an original design and created by the 4-H member, except in Heritage Arts.
  6. Copyrighted or trademarked designs are unacceptable, including Team or School logos.
  7. Kits and preformed molds are not considered original and are not acceptable in any class.
  8. Combining parts of different patterns (pictures, photographs, images from the internet or a magazine) with the member's own ideas can result in an original design, but simply changing the color, pattern and/or size of a pattern does NOT make the design original. This also applies to ideas found on a site such as Pinterest. If you see something on Pinterest that you like, use the concept and create something different using it; however, it MUST look different from what the judge can search for and find on Pinterest.
  9. If you create a replica of what you see somewhere else, it is not your original design. If a photo, sketch, or other idea source was used, submit it with your entry, firmly attached to your exhibit. Be prepared to explain how and where you got the idea for this project.
  10. All art pieces must include an object label. An example of an object label can be found after the classes.

For list of classes being offered, check out the official rules document located on this site
